Your career doesn’t define who you are.
Begin your next chapter with clarity, purpose, and intention.
Most people plan their retirement finances.
Few plan their life after a career ends.
You’ve worked hard to get here.
Now comes the part nobody really prepares you for—figuring out who you are without a job title and what gives you purpose when the routine falls away.

Your Guide,
Amy Nickerson
Helping people navigate meaningful life transitions – especially the journey into retirement – with clarity, purpose and confidence. As a credentialed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), I’ve spent my entire career in a helping profession - supporting people in improving the quality of their lives through food and nutrition behaviors. While RDNs are known for their depth of nutrition knowledge, an often-overlooked aspect of our work is helping people make meaningful, lasting behavior change.
For more than 20 years, I have also guided students, alumni, and mid-career professionals as they explored career options and found paths aligned with their goals and values. Over time, these two threads of my work came together and sparked an “aha” moment about what was next for me after stepping away from faculty and program administration roles. I realized that helping people navigate transitions - especially career transitions - deeply resonated with me.
Then it became clear: while most people prepare financially for retirement, far fewer consider the non-financial aspects of this major life transition. I saw a gap - one where guidance, reflection, and intentional planning are just as essential.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked across diverse sectors - including academia, clinical practice, foodservice management, and public health - and have held leadership roles at the national, state, and local levels. Across all of these experiences, a common thread has been helping people move through change with clarity and confidence.
Most recently, I’ve navigated two transitions of my own: a career pivot from academia to entrepreneurship, and the early stages of retirement - two experiences that are closely intertwined. I bring a strong foundation in guiding people through meaningful change, grounded in both professional expertise and personal experience. I don’t just talk about transitions - I’ve lived them.
If you’re navigating a transition of your own, you’re not alone – and you don’t have to figure it out yourself.
“The structure and accountability made all the difference. Knowing I had regular check-ins with Amy kept me committed to the reflection work, and our conversations around identity, purpose, and values helped me think more intentionally about what comes next.”
